What is a microchip?
The easiest way to reunite lost pets with their owners is through a microchip! A microchip is a small sterile chip, no larger than a grain of rice, implanted between the shoulder blades of the animal. It is a quick procedure that feels like just another vaccine to your pet. The microchip has a unique number that is stored in a national database that links your pet with your contact information.
We offer microchip services during our Community Clinic hours for only $15!
How does it work?
Each microchip has a unique number that displays when your pet is scanned. This number links to your account in the 24Petwatch database and will provide animal control officers, shelters, and veterinary clinics with your contact information.
Cache Humane Society’s microchips come with lifetime registration for your pet through 24Petwatch. This means you will not be charged to update your contact information if you move or change phone numbers. You also get access to a free pet portal unique to your animal and chat support from 24Petwatch.
Pet parents should periodically check your microchip contact information to make sure it is up-to-date. You can easily update your contact information here.
