Update October 01, 2021: The citizen-led Valley View Dog Park Committee has made the difficult decision to dissolve after six rewarding years operating Cache Valley’s only non-profit dog park. The Valley View Dog Park was developed and maintained through charitable donations and community volunteerism. The generosity of dog-park users allowed us to operate and maintain an off-leash dog park without the use of taxpayer funds or admission fees.
In recent years, maintenance and liability insurance expenses have increased significantly as opportunities for volunteerism and user donations have decreased below our ability to sustain the Valley View Dog Park. The Valley View Dog Park also faced a growing problem with pet waste. We are grateful to the many volunteers and Cache Humane Society staff who contributed hundreds of hours to grounds-keeping, but we were not able to consistently maintain safe and sanitary conditions for both our two-legged and four-legged visitors.
As we have also experienced an increase in the need to care for homeless pets, the Valley View Dog Park Committee asks that our community continue to direct their support to humane sheltering and animal welfare in Cache Valley.
